Tail Wagger 5K Dog Friendly Tahoe Vista, Saturday, May 30, 2026
Tail Wagger 5K and 1 Miler! Finally, an event for dogs in the Tahoe Truckee Area! The event will take place at North Tahoe Regional Park, located at 6600 Donner Road, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148. No dog, no problem, as the event is also open to human runners. The event expo is open to the public at no cost.
Olympic Valley Half Marathon, Saturday, June 12, 2027
This excellent course features an epic valley, peak views, and the Truckee River corridor. It starts and finishes in the Village at Palisades Tahoe.

The course distance is approximately 7.88 miles. The run is held on the paved Truckee River Trail. It starts and finishes at The Village at Palisades Tahoe.

Burton Creek Trail Run, Sunday, June 28, 2026

Big Chief 50K Tahoe Ultra Trail Run, Sunday, June 28, 2026
The Big Chief 50K features a loop course in North Lake Tahoe showcasing many of the area’s fun and scenic trails.
Run to the Beach, July 4th, 2026
The 5K or 10K Run to the Beach starts in North Tahoe Regional Park. From the park, runners can choose a 5K or 10K course that leads them through native pine forests and scenic single-track trails, ultimately finishing on the Beach at the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area.
Truckee Half Marathon and 5K August 1, 2026
Course options include the Truckee Half Marathon, Truckee 5K, and Kids distances. All distances start and finish in Historic Downtown Truckee. This Truckee Running event showcases the diverse beauty of Sierra landscapes and gives runners a taste of our wonderful mountain town.
Spooner Lake 5K 10K, August 9, 2026
The 5K and 10K Spooner Lake course features a scenic trail run circumnavigating Spooner Lake. Bring the family for the run and then spend some time hangin’ at the Spooner Backcountry!
Marlette 50K and 10 Miler, August 9, 2026
The Marlette 50K is a truly adventurous romp through some of Earth’s most scenic and challenging trails. Based at Spooner Lake in Lake Tahoe, Nevada’s State Park, the run features 30 miles of epic trail and views. Think of prime Sierra single-track trails and add 360-degree panorama views of Lake Tahoe, the Carson Valley, and the surrounding Range. Marlette Lake lies in the middle of the course, and if you’re heating up during the run, feel free to take a plunge. The Marlette 10 Miler is no slouch as with a start at Spooner Lake and then a round trip to Marlette Lake and back.
Emerald Bay Trail Run, September 12, 2026
Easily one of the most beautiful trail runs in the series, the Emerald Bay Trail Run starts at Eagle Point and takes runners on a 7.5 mile/12K course around Emerald Bay and up the Rubicon Trail into D.L. Bliss State Park before finishing back on Lester Beach. Plan on spending the entire day in Lake Tahoe for this one because once you’re done with the race, you won’t want to leave!
Great Trail Race September 26, 2026
The Great Trail Race is an epic point-to-point route between Truckee and Tahoe City, CA, that you can either mountain bike or trail run. Choose one of two-course options: Elite or Classic. The Elite course adds more technically challenging terrain and distance. Make the event the goal of your summer training, then dig deep and beat your age-group rivals. Or set your own pace and enjoy a beautiful Tahoe mountain bike ride or Tahoe trail run through the Sierra forest.
Sand Harbor 5K and 10K, October 31, 2026
Enjoy the natural splendor of Lake Tahoe’s East Shore during the Sand Harbor 5K and 10K trail run. Participants will navigate an out-and-back route along the picturesque Tahoe East Shore Trail, beginning and ending at the iconic Sand Harbor State Park. Famous for its granite boulders and crystal-clear coves, the park offers a spectacular alpine backdrop for runners of all skill levels.
