XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K and 10K

The XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K 10K Trail Run course starts and finishes at the Village Green in Incline Village, NV. This is a large open grass community field. The event is set up and staged from here. From the starting area the course heads north and onto the great trail system featuring tall pines, aspens and creek crossings. Run one lap for the 5K or two for the 10K. The second lap starts right back in the venue creating a fun viewing area to cheer on the 10K participants.

We are not scheduling a 2025 event:

Unfortunately, Nevada State Parks and Nevada Public Works have recently determined that several trails in the Spooner Backcountry, including those used by the XTERRA Lake Tahoe bike course, will be closed for the season. We have also explored all possible options for rerouting the course. We produce the XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K 10K in conjunction with the XTERRA Lake Tahoe triathlon.

This is due to the impact of the Marlette Lake Dam Resilient Infrastructure Project on the trails and roads near the project site.

2025 will mark the third time since 2001 that XTERRA Lake Tahoe has not been held. We also did not hold the event in 2020 due to COVID-19 and in 2021 because of the Caldor Fire.

We look forward to the 2026 XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K 10K.
